Woolf '20 Selected for All-State Festival Orchestra

Congratulations to Springs violist MaryElla Woolf '20, who was selected to play in the 2018 Alabama All-State Festival Orchestra at the University of Alabama Feb. 8-11!

The Festival Orchestra, held annually, provides talented student musicians ages 11-18 an opportunity to rehearse and perform under the direction of nationally renowned conductors.

At her audition in early October, Woolf sight-read a piece and performed excerpts from Sibelius’ “Symphony No. 5,” Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 5,” and Mendelssohn’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” for a panel of judges.

Woolf joined the Springs community in October and plays as a member of the instrumental music ensemble.
