Nine Seniors Named National Merit Semifinalists

Nine Indian Springs seniors have been named Semifinalists in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Competition: Star Cheng ’23, Gus Colvin ’23, Vickie Kim ’23, William Kong ’23, Cynthia Li ’23, Mayu Nakano ’23, Yuji Nakano ’23, Nour Shoreibah ’23, and Enoch Xiao ’23.

2023 Semifinalists were selected based on their achievements on the 2021 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. They represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors and include the highest-scoring entrants in each state. Of the 16,000 Semifinalists, about 15,000 are expected to advance to the Finalist level. Finalists will have the opportunity to compete for some 7,250 scholarships worth more than $28 million.

Congratulations to our 2023 Semifinalists!
