Colvin ’23, Picard ’23 Compete in All-Star Sports Week

Gus Colvin ’23 and Elise Picard ’23 represented Indian Springs during Alabama All-Star Sports Week held July 18-22 in Montgomery. Gus competed in boys soccer, and Elise competed in girls cross-country.

All-Star athletes are nominated by AHSAA member school coaches, who then are selected by a committee of coaches from eight different sports. Participants are rising seniors, representing each of the eight districts in the state, and makeup two teams: a North and a South All-Star roster.

Gus and his North teammates defeated the South team 6-3. He was one of three goal scorers on the North team during the win. He took five shots on goal and made one of the team’s six goals.

Elise also participated on the North team in cross-country. Elise placed 5th for her team, earning her team points that ultimately defeated the South team 19-32. Her time of 20:43.97 placed her an impressive seventh overall.

Congratulations to Gus and Elise! Go Springs!
