Sims Tosh ’22 Signs to Play Soccer at Oglethorpe College

Sims Tosh ’22, the starting goalkeeper for Indian Springs’ boys varsity soccer team, has signed to play Division III soccer with Oglethorpe College in Atlanta, Georgia.

Sims' effort in net during the 2021 season helped the team win the 2021 Class 4A-5A State Championship. Sims holds two individual state records from that season, including most consecutive shut-outs (9), and a goals saved percentage of 87.5% (70 saves in 80 attempts). He also holds the second most shut-outs in a season at 20.

To date, Sims has only allowed 19 goals during his career at Indian Springs and has an overall goals saved percentage of 84.4%.

Indian Springs’ goalkeeper coach Wanda Porter says, “Sims is by far the best [goalkeeper] Indian Springs School has ever had. He is phenomenal.” Head coach Rik Tozzi says, “Sims is the best [goalkeeper] in the state, if not in the nation.”

Sims was named to the 2021 Birmingham All-Metro First Team, the Shelby All-County Team, and the Alabama High School Soccer Coaches Super All-State First Team. He is on track to earn top honors again for the 2022 season.

Indian Springs is once again in the state playoffs and will face off against American Christian Academy on Tuesday, May 3.

Outside of Indian Springs, Sims plays with the Hoover-Vestavia Soccer Club where he is also the starting goalkeeper.
