Rominger ’23, Williams ’23 Attend Youth Leadership Forum

Indian Springs students Phoebe Rominger ’23 and Chloe Williams ’23 have been invited to join the Youth Leadership Forum Class of 2022.

An outgrowth of the successful Leadership Birmingham program for adults, the Youth Leadership Forum (YLF) is a community-wide leadership program for high school sophomores and juniors designed to expose young leaders to the various elements that interact to form a strong and dynamic metropolitan area.

YLF provides in-depth programming to acquaint students with community needs, opportunities, problems, and resources, as well as opportunities to meet students from different backgrounds and areas to exchange ideas and broaden perspectives. YLF gives students a foundation of knowledge as well as the skills to become involved as a leader in the community.

The forum features six sessions in arts, government, human services, economic development, education, and other aspects of the Birmingham community. Additional workshops at Samford University will teach skills in time management, resume writing, and college readiness.

Phoebe is a member of the girls varsity volleyball, basketball, and soccer teams. She participates in the Youth Action Council and the Youth Philanthropy Council. She serves as an Indian Springs Student Ambassador and a peer mentor and was selected as a class representative during her 10th-grade year.

Chloe is a Junior United Nations Assembly Student Leader. She plays varsity basketball and soccer for Indian Springs and serves as a peer mentor. She also served as a class representative during her 9th-grade year. Outside of school, Chloe is active in her church youth group.

Sessions and workshops will take place from November 2021 through April 2022.

Congratulations to both students!
