Mark Underwood ’23 Wins State Championship

Indian Springs swimmer Mark Underwood ’23 won first place in the AHSAA state championship 1A-5A 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:04.34. He also won second place in the 1A-5A 200-meter individual medley with a lifetime best time of 2:01.86. He qualified for state after excellent performances at two regional meets. Indian Springs' Boys Varsity Basketball Team started the season with a winning streak. They defeated Fayetteville 50-48 on Nov. 13, Jefferson Christian 68-48 on Dec. 1, Altamont 49-41 on Dec. 4, and Fayetteville again 52-47 on Dec. 8. Team leaders include Carson Huff ’23, Hooper Markert ’21, Will Miller ’21, Tyler Nelson ’22, and Max Yeager ’21

Indian Springs' Girls Bowling Team will advance to the South Regional Championship in Spanish Fort on Jan. 14-15 after defeating Fayetteville and Winterboro on Dec. 3 to place second in regionals. Abby Richie ’22 bowled a personal best of 172, Tatum Kelley ’23 a 124, Isabella Yaghmai ’21 a 116, and Drew Fetterolf ’21 a personal best of 116.

Indian Springs' Boys Bowling Team defeated Winterboro and Lincoln on Dec. 3, placing third in the regional competition. Andrew Glassford ’22 bowled a 201, Liam Falconer ’22 a 190, Henry Jacobs ’23 a personal best of 129, Nicholas Johnson ’22 a personal best of 124, and Seth Walton ’22 a 119.
