Boarding Students Make Ribbons for Breast Cancer Awareness

Over the weekend, dorm faculty India Allen worked with boarding students to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind pink ribbons to support Breast Cancer Awareness and her project, Ribbons of Hope. The activity builds upon Allen’s efforts last fall when she personally created thousands of ribbons to share throughout the community as a tribute to her grandmother.

She created a workspace in the practice gym with all of the supplies set up at four different work-stations for students to embellish each ribbon with their own personal touch. The students were overjoyed to participate in this service opportunity and spread hope to everyone affected by breast cancer.

These ribbons will be donated during the month of October, which is designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. You can learn more about Allen’s story and the inspiration for this project here.
