Seven Indian Springs seniors have been named Semifinalists in the 65th Annual National Merit Scholarship Program: Hunter Crawford ’20, Evan Dunbar ’20, John David Haws ’20, Jocelyn Lyu ’20, Labdhi Mehta ’20, John Slaughter ’20, and Ben Standaert ’20.
2020 Semifinalists were selected based on their achievements on the 2018 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. They represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors and include the highest-scoring entrants in each state. Of the 16,000 Semifinalists, about 15,000 are expected to advance to the Finalist level. Finalists will have the opportunity to compete for some 7,600 scholarships worth more than $31 million.
