Karle ’19, Underwood ’23 Excel at Season’s First Swim Meet

Indian Springs swimmers Mia Karle ’19 and Mark Underwood ’23 both placed in the top five of their respective categories at the Westminster Sprint Invitational, the first swim meet of the season!

The invitational, hosted by Westminster School on Sept. 17 at Life Time Fitness in Vestavia, included teams from 12 local schools.

Karle, who has been swimming for Indian Springs for three years, placed first in the 50-meter breaststroke and fifth in the 100-meter individual medley (combination butterfly stroke, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle).

Underwood, a first-year Indian Springs swimmer, placed second in the 100-meter individual medley, fourth in the 50-meter backstroke, fourth in the 50-meter butterfly, and fifth in the 50-meter breaststroke.
