Capstone Projects

The Capstone is a program wherein students explore an area of interest that extends beyond and augments the classroom experience and Independent Study Program.
The students are active participants in the learning process and are the protagonists of their learning. In the fall of junior year, students apply to be a Capstone Scholar. These scholars work with a faculty mentor through the following summer and fall on the research topic of their choosing and present their work to a committee in the spring of their senior year. Due to its rigorous application process and requirements, there are approximately two to four scholars per year.
