Mayor

The duty of the Mayor is to provide leadership for the Council and the community as a whole in building a greater understanding of the aims and purposes of the community and in bringing about the realization of these aims and purposes through the various Council offices.
The duty of the Mayor is to provide leadership for the Council and the community as a whole in building a greater understanding of the aims and purposes of the community and in bringing about the realization of these aims and purposes through the various Council offices. The Mayor is responsible for seeing that each Council office fulfills its respective duties and platforms and for coordinating the work of the Council. He or she is further directed to maintain a permanent typewritten record of the minutes of all Town Meetings and Council meetings and to file that record in the school archives at the end of his or her term. (These records should be sent to the Head of School’s assistant each week.) The Mayor is responsible for reviewing, with students, the Student Standards, in a Town Meeting at the beginning of each semester.
