Josie Butler ’26 and Tuan Tran ’26 Named National Merit Scholars

Congratulations to Josie Butler ’26 and Tuan Tran ’26, who have been named National Merit Scholars! Each will receive a $2,500 scholarship from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation to the college of their choice.

Approximately 6,700 National Merit Scholarship winners were chosen from the group of 15,000 distinguished Finalists. Tuan and Josie were among the six Indian Springs students named 2026 National Merit Finalists selected by a committee of college admissions officers and high school counselors based on academic records, standardized test scores, contributions and leadership skills at Indian Springs School, community activities, a personal essay, and a letter of recommendation. Winners are candidates judged to have the most robust combination of academic skills and achievements, extracurricular accomplishments, and potential for success in rigorous college studies.

Josie plans to attend Amherst College in the fall, while Tuan will be attending Emory University.
