Personal Note: “I came to Indian Springs in the fall of 1960 from a small town of 3000 on the Florida/Alabama border: Florala. As soon as I walked on to the campus I realized I was in a different world. Young boys walked up and shook my hand and welcomed me to the boarding circle and with those moments I began to open my mind to a very different life. I loved Florala but my parents wanted something different for me. What I came to realize in later years is that everything that I have accomplished in my life came from lessons I learned at the Springs. In those days we were graded on 'intellectual curiosity beyond course requirements.' Curiosity, when matched with drive and an open mind would lead to a life of wonder. That is what I 'learned” from “living.' What a privilege to be asked to join this Board and give back to the institution which sent me on
my way.“
