Lauren Wainwright ’88

Lauren Wainwright ’88 returned to Indian Springs in 2017 after successful careers spanning corporate law, private equity, theater production, and postsecondary education. In 1993, Lauren graduated from Wesleyan University Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor's in Classics. After earning a juris doctorate from Boston College Law School in 1999, she clerked in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She worked as a corporate lawyer until 2011 at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York and London and as Vice President and Associate General Counsel of Goldman Sachs. Her passion for theater led her to earn a master's of fine arts from Yale School of Drama in 2014. She then served as executive director for several New York theater companies and as a lecturer in law and management at Yale School of Drama. At Indian Springs, Lauren teaches classes in American Lauren teaches classes in American government, history, and law, while also directing strategic planning and facilitating special projects related to strategic initiatives.
