From violin to French horn to piano and a host of instruments in between, Indian Springs nurtures and celebrates students’ love of instrumental music.
Students interested in learning or continuing to study an instrument during their time at Indian Springs find incredible support from its talented musical faculty.
Those passionate about instrumental music can take the year-long Music Ensemble course for art credit, or just for fun. Students enrolled in the course learn and perform classical works for ensembles of two or more musicians. The class consists of at least one weekly coaching session with the instructor, as well as daily practice sessions and biweekly musicianship classes. Students study a minimum of four chamber music works and perform in at least two concerts.
Students can also sign up for on-campus private lessons in piano, violin, viola, cello, and voice taught by professional musicians. Many of our music instructors are members of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra.
Indian Springs’ Musical Friday series, held on select Fridays throughout the school year, showcases the artistry of our student musicians. Performances take place in our state-of-the-art Concert Hall during students' break, and all Indian Springs instrumentalists are welcome.
