Essay by Rezi Ubogu ’23 Featured by National Nonprofit

An essay by Indian Springs senior Rezi Ubogu ’23 will be featured on the website Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It. “The Damage of Self Discovery” was selected from submissions to the Flaunt It Awards, a partner of the 2023 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It (DHIFI) is a nonprofit working to advance acceptance, understanding, tolerance, and mutual respect for a person’s differences. Inspired by the theme “the things that make me different make me me,” DHIFI “encourages people of all ages to flaunt their own differences and ultimately embrace and celebrate what makes us all unique.”

In the 2023 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, Rezi received five Gold Keys, the highest achievement at the regional level and the most of any Indian Springs student. Rezi also advanced to the 2023 Alabama Poetry Out Loud State Competition after placing fifth at regionals.

Congratulations, Rezi!
