Davis ’25, Lizee ’25, Rominger ’25 Attend Youth Leadership Forum

Indian Springs students Edward Davis ’25, Max Lizee ’25, and Etta Rominger ’25 have been invited to join the Youth Leadership Forum Class of 2023.

An outgrowth of the successful Leadership Birmingham program for adults, the Youth Leadership Forum (YLF) is a community-wide leadership program for high school sophomores and juniors designed to expose young leaders to the various elements that interact to form a strong and dynamic metropolitan area.

YLF provides in-depth programming to acquaint students with community needs, opportunities, problems, and resources, as well as opportunities to meet students from different backgrounds and areas to exchange ideas and broaden perspectives. YLF gives students a foundation of knowledge as well as the skills to become involved as a leader in the community.

The forum features six sessions in arts, government, human services, economic development, education, and other aspects of the Birmingham community. Additional workshops at Samford University will teach skills in time management, resume writing, and college readiness.

Edward is a member of Indian Springs’ wrestling and baseball teams. He is part of Indian Springs’ Wharton Global Investment Competition team and the Christianity Club. Outside of school, Edward is heavily involved with his church and the State of Alabama Episcopal Youth Diocese. He is a Boy Scout, with his sights set on becoming an Eagle Scout soon. He has started his own clothing line as well as a podcast.

Max plays tenor saxophone and is the co-founder of the Indian Springs Jazz Club. His interests include computer science, robotics, environmental activism, and fishing. He previously volunteered at the McWane Science Center in Birmingham, where he worked with animals and did various educational programs.

Etta is a member of Indian Springs’ cross-country team and played basketball and soccer for Indian Springs as well.

Sessions and workshops will take place from November 2022 through April 2023.

Congratulations to Edward, Max, and Etta!
