Thirty-Six Teams Compete in Schoolwide "Scav Hunt"

Thirty-six teams representing nearly 200 students, faculty, and staff participated in the ninth annual schoolwide Scav Hunt for a chance to donate $1,000 to the charity of their choice. The 10-day competition was held September 21-30 and consisted of 100 tasks challenging teams to work together, explore campus, meet new people, and be creative.

The task list was compiled and scored by a nine-member student committee, including fall semester Mayor Lucy Craig ’23, Isaiah Bingham ’24, Lillian Jacobs ’23, Cynthia Li ’23, Patrick McCarty ’23, Aiden Moriya ’25, Kate Seidel ’26, Nate Street ’24, and Frank Stone ’26. Math teacher Stephanie Thomas advises the committee. 

Winners were announced at the Sadie Hawkins Dance on October 1.

Placing first was “Thing 1,” made up of Evie Frohsin ’25, Ruby Harris ’25, Sarah Khamis ’25, Alex Robinson ’25, and Ava Taylor ’24. Finishing in a close second was “Swag Hunt 2: Electric Boogaloo,” which included Mason Forman ’24, Sophia Graham ’24, Lily Naylor ’23, Chance Smith ’25, Mylo Waara ’24, and history teacher Kelly Jacobs. 

Third place was “Staff Infection,” a mega-team of all faculty/staff members (the first of its kind in Scav Hunt history): April Berry, Keith Bowman, William Blackerby, Anne Burruss, Renee Chow, Dan Clinkman, John Fahey, Jon Gray, Ann Hamner, Amelia Johnson, Chris Tetzlaff, Scott Schamberger, Lauren Wainwright, Weslie Wald, and Hunter Wolfe.

Indian Springs Student Government will donate $1,000 to the charity of choice for “Thing 1”: The Trevor Project, a nonprofit organization focusing on suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning youth.

Below is a small sampling of tasks:
