Alumni Serving Others in the Coronavirus Pandemic

Indian Springs alum C.B. “Chip” Thuss ’74 M.D. is the Medical Director of Occupational Health Clinics at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. He is serving patients on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic while his son, Ben Thuss ’09, is working behind the scenes. As the shortage of personal protection equipment became a concern for healthcare workers around the world, Ben purchased two 3D printers and began producing face shields. So far he has supplied his father’s clinic as well as two of his aunt’s clinics in Georgia and in England.

We want to recognize the important work of Chip, Ben, and all the members of the Indian Springs community who are serving others in this unprecedented time of need. We invite you to share your stories and photos with us via email to indiansprings@indiansprings.org.
