Li ’18 Awarded National Merit Scholarship

Recent Springs graduate Amy Li ’18 has been selected to receive a National Merit Scholarship sponsored by the University of Southern California, where she will major in Health and Human Sciences and minor in Cinema–Television for the Health Professions this fall.

Li, one of six Indian Springs seniors to be named 2018 National Merit finalists, was selected by a committee of college admissions officers and high school counselors based on her academic record, standardized test scores, contributions and leadership at Indian Springs, community activities, personal essay, and a letter of recommendation.

Last summer, Li was one of 100 high school students nationwide to receive a 2017 Emperor Science Award from PBS LearningMedia. The award included a $1,500 stipend and a Google Chromebook to research cell-based immunotherapy of cancer for 10 weeks at UAB.

During her time at Springs, Li was a member of the Mock Trial team and Model United Nations Club, co-head of the Debate Club, and part of the Girls Tennis team.

Congratulations, Amy!
