Personal Note:
"Teaching government and law classes, particularly in the current political climate, is fascinating. Every news cycle provides a significant learning moment, and I ask students to apply their knowledge of government structure and judicial doctrine to daily, highly publicized, real-world events. Apart from my classes’ substance, though, I also want students to understand the importance of civil discourse and to learn its art; to engage in respectful conversation based on fact and reason, and to be able to argue both sides of a debate, rather than be entrenched in one; and to understand that sometimes there is no ‘right’ answer, or that two people can be ‘right’ at the same time."
