Teacher to Teacher

Indian Springs faculty and administrators work together toward the betterment of the school.
Among the variety of skills possessed by an Indian Springs teacher is the ability to work effectively and productively with colleagues and administrators toward the betterment of the school as a whole. To work effectively as colleagues, each teacher should feel comfortable about seeking or offering support, advice, and help whenever appropriate. While each department chair is a designated mentor of new faculty, other members of the faculty and administration should also encourage and be open to dialogue about needs and concerns.

Working as a team also involves acknowledging and supporting inter/intra-departmental goals and needs. To achieve this, teachers need to remain flexible and willing to coordinate assignments and plans for outside events with their colleagues through timely communication. Faculty must notify others as soon as possible of special events, field trips, and any extracurricular activities. Teachers should advise colleagues of any changes in a student's performance or attitude in their courses so that help can be offered on as many fronts as possible.

Overall, Indian Springs School views the professionalism and collegiality of its faculty and administrators as crucial to the efficient and successful functioning of the community as a whole. Teachers and administrators are reminded that they are role models for each other as well as for the students and are expected to maintain the highest levels of personal integrity, dedication, and respect in their dealings with each other.
