Kim ‘19 Wins Second YoungArts Honorable Mention

Springs violinist Honney Kim ‘19 has, for the second year in a row, been named an honorable mention recipient in the Classical Music category of the National YoungArts Competition.

Established in 1981, the YoungArts Competition provides talented creators and performers ages 15-18 the opportunity to receive professional mentoring and achieve national recognition.

Kim’s honorable mention places her in the top 10 percent of all 2018 auditions. Only 268 Honorable Mentions were named nationwide, and of those only three are from Alabama.

For her accomplishment, Kim will receive a medallion, a monetary award, and the opportunity to participate in the 2019 YoungArts Miami regional program in February with all expenses paid.

Congratulations, Honney!
