Five ISS Seniors Named 2015 National Merit Finalists

Five Indian Springs School seniors have been named Finalists in the 60th annual National Merit Scholarship Program!

Sebastian Black ’15, Ethan White ’15, Eli Cohen ’15, Tristan Trechsel ’15, and Ashley Leader ’15 were selected based on their achievements on the 2013 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), high SAT scores, strong academic performance in grades 9-12, extracurricular and volunteer achievements, and personal essay.

The distinction places them in a group of about 15,000 students nationwide (representing less than 1% of graduating seniors) competing for 8,300 Merit Scholarship awards to be presented later this spring based on their abilities, skills, and accomplishments.

“We are proud of these outstanding students and delighted to see their hard work, dedication, and exceptional abilities celebrated through this important recognition,” says Director Gareth Vaughan.

Congratulations and best wishes to all five students!
