Two ISS Seniors Invited To Join All-State Choir

ISS seniors Sam Stallings ’15 and Anna Welden ’15 have been invited to sing in the 2015 Alabama All-State SATB Choir.

Members of the ISS Concert and Chamber Choirs, both students competed this fall in the All-State Choir's highly competitive Soprano I category, says ISS Director of Music Dr. Tim Thomas.

“The Alabama All-State SATB Choir is fortunate to have Sam and Anna,” says Thomas. “They will be major contributors. They know how to solo, but they are also excellent ensemble choral singers. They genuinely enjoy singing, appreciate the beauty of the music, and sing from the heart.”

The All-State choral competition is open to students in grades 10-12. As members of the All-State Choir, Stallings and Welden will participate in the 2015 All-State Choral Festival, a three-day event that will take place in April at Samford University and conclude with a professionally recorded concert.

Hosted by the Alabama Vocal Association, the festival seeks to give choir members a chance to sing under the direction of nationally recognized choral clinicians and to perform challenging choral literature.

Congratulations to both students!
