ISS Boys Soccer Team Wins 2014 Lakeshore Shootout

The ISS Varsity Boys Soccer Team won the Gold Division of the 2014 Lakeshore Shootout Soccer Tournament Saturday with three straight victories over James Clemens (3-0), Gadsden City (4-2), and Chelsea (2-1), all Class 6A teams. Indian Springs is a Class 3A school.

In the championship match against Chelsea, Rakim Ali ’16 and Reeves Duggan ’14 each scored a goal, and goalie Ramsey Rossmann ’15 had six saves, to lead Indian Springs to a dramatic 2-1 overtime win. Ali was named Most Valuable Player.

Founded in 1992, the Lakeshore Shootout Soccer Tournament is one of the largest high school varsity soccer tournaments in the Southeast.

ISS is currently 3-0 for the season. The Varsity Boys’ next match will be Wed., Feb. 19, at Pinson Valley.
