Academic Program

Technology
Students are encouraged to use technology to broaden the experience of learning and to be well prepared for the technological future that awaits them.

At Indian Springs, technology is not locked away.
Computers are readily accessible. Students are encouraged to use them as tools to gain educational as well as personal insight. And technology is not limited to just computers. Digital cameras, video editing decks, and scanners, are just a few of the new technologies that the school promotes for student use.

Class offerings are diverse and stress real-world solution building.
We much prefer real people with real needs as a programming project than some fictional company out of a textbook. Where else could your class project end up as the membership database for a local civic organization? Or your Web design class does whole sections of your school's new Web page?

So what can you learn?

First, we stress the importance of good keyboarding skills. You can then progress to getting a taste for programming or apply your creative side in different design classes. Jump on our T-1 Internet connection to do research on the Internet, or after classes on Friday, duke it out with your classmates in a multi-user network game, screaming along at 100 mbs.

The Computer Lab seems to be a great gathering spot for Springs students.

It is open until 11:00 p.m. during the week, and later on the weekends. Everyone has a private storage area on the file server, and boarding students can access the network from their dorm rooms with their personal PC. Technology is not locked away at Indian Springs.
