The
seminar approach is used extensively.

"A stimulating learning environment is attained when
those participating in the seminar experience interact with
people of similar interests who are willing to broaden their
knowledge through careful study and a sharing of information."
MacDonald Fleming, History
"Something that we as teachers must always remember is that communication for our students does not take the same forms that it did when we were in school. More often than not, our students are using text messages as the basis for their discussion. The online forums used by the 10 th grade English classes allow students in different sections to share ideas about and responses to, for example, Frankenstein. The “forum” takes on the character of an interdisciplinary seminar; as a means of engaging with the English curriculum, students reference the Enlightenment philosophers they learned about in Dr Cooper's history class, and the musicians they had been introduced to in Dr. Thomas's class."
